David’s Story

Tier 1 Human Performance was built from a belief that training should prepare you for more than looking fit. It should prepare you to perform when you are tired, under pressure, uncomfortable, and facing something difficult.

My name is David Greene. I am a U.S. military veteran with 10 years of service and a background in protective security, high-threat operations, emergency response, and real-world performance environments. Throughout my career, fitness was never just about appearance. Strength, endurance, durability, awareness, and the ability to keep moving under fatigue could directly affect the outcome of a mission.

That experience shaped the way I view training today.

I learned that being strong is not enough if you cannot maintain that strength when your heart rate is elevated. Endurance is not enough if you cannot carry weight, move efficiently, or make good decisions while exhausted. Real performance requires a combination of strength, speed, conditioning, mobility, resilience, and discipline.

After leaving military service, I wanted to continue helping people build those qualities. That vision became Tier 1 Human Performance.

Why I Created Tier 1 Human Performance

I created Tier 1 Human Performance because too many people are following random workouts without a clear plan, measurable progression, or a real understanding of what they are training for.

Some people are preparing for military fitness testing or a demanding selection process. Others work in law enforcement, fire, EMS, security, or another profession where physical readiness matters. Some are training for HYROX, endurance events, or personal performance goals. Others simply want to become stronger, healthier, and more capable for their families and everyday lives.

Although their goals may be different, they all need the same thing: purposeful training.

Tier 1 Human Performance provides structured programs and individualized coaching designed to build complete athletes. The goal is not to specialize in one area while ignoring everything else. The goal is to create people who can run, lift, carry, drag, climb, recover, and continue performing when conditions become difficult.

My Coaching Philosophy

I believe training should have a purpose.

Every exercise, workout, and training phase should move the athlete closer to a specific goal. That means developing strength without sacrificing endurance, improving conditioning without destroying recovery, and building work capacity without relying on random intensity.

My coaching focuses on:

  • Strength and muscular endurance

  • Running and cardiovascular development

  • Functional movement and mobility

  • Performance under fatigue

  • Load carrying and real-world work capacity

  • Recovery and long-term durability

  • Accountability and measurable progression

I also believe the best training plan is one the athlete can consistently execute. Programs must account for the athlete’s schedule, equipment, experience, limitations, occupation, and current fitness level. A plan may look impressive on paper, but it is only valuable if it can be followed, measured, and adjusted.

More Than a Training Program

Tier 1 Human Performance is about more than selling workouts.

It is about building a community of people who hold themselves to a higher standard and encourage others to do the same. It is about helping military personnel, first responders, competitive athletes, parents, and everyday individuals become more prepared for whatever life places in front of them.

Fitness has the ability to change more than someone’s body. It can build confidence, discipline, leadership, and the belief that difficult things can be overcome.

That is the kind of growth I want every Tier 1 athlete to experience.

Experience and Qualifications

My background includes:

  • 10 years of U.S. military service

  • Protective-security experience in high-threat environments

  • Quick-reaction and emergency-response experience

  • Department of State protective-security work

  • ISSA Tactical Conditioning Specialist certification

  • CPR and AED certification

  • HYROX athlete and performance coach

  • Founder of Tier 1 Human Performance

  • Founder of the Bennington Running Club

  • 1st Phorm Community Captain

My experience has taught me that preparedness is not something you can fake when the pressure arrives. It must be built through consistent training, discipline, and a willingness to address weaknesses.

The Mission

The mission of Tier 1 Human Performance is to help people become stronger, faster, more durable, and more capable in the situations that matter most.

Whether you are preparing for service, competition, a demanding career, or simply becoming the person your family can depend on, you deserve a training plan built with purpose.

You do not need to be an elite athlete to begin.

You only need to be willing to start, remain consistent, and keep moving forward.

Train with purpose. Perform under pressure. Become harder to break.
