ABOUT THE EVENT

The Tier 1 PHIT Challenge is a free community fitness event designed to test endurance, grit, resilience, and mental toughness.

This month's challenge, The Track Grinder, takes place entirely at the Bennington High School Track and is built for all fitness levels. Whether you're military, law enforcement, a first responder, a seasoned athlete, or simply someone looking to challenge yourself, this event is for you.

There are no trophies, cash prizes, or medals.

This event is about showing up, putting in the work, and becoming better than you were yesterday.

All fitness levels are welcome, and scaling options will be available throughout the event.

EVENT TIMELINE

7:45 AM – Athlete Check-In

Arrive, sign in, meet other participants, and get settled.

8:15 AM – Event Briefing

Workout overview, movement standards, safety guidelines, and questions.

8:30 AM – Event Start

10:00–11:00 AM – Recovery & Community

Participants can enjoy recovery drinks, protein bars, take photos, and connect with other athletes.

THE CHALLENGE

STATION 1 – THE MILE

1-Mile Run (4 laps around the track)

Immediately followed by:

• 100 Air Squats
• 50 Push-Ups

STATION 2 – THE CARRY

10 Rounds:

• 100m Sandbag Carry
• 10 Walking Lunges

Recommended Weights:

Beginner:
• 25–50 lb Sandbag

Scaled:
• 50 lb Sandbag

RX:
• 100 lb+ Sandbag

STATION 3 – THE GRINDER

5 Rounds:

• 250m Run
• 15 Burpees
• 15 Sit-Ups

STATION 4 – FINAL PUSH

800m Run

Immediately followed by:

• 50 Air Squats
• 25 Push-Ups

Finish.

OPTIONAL TIER 1 FINISHER

For athletes who want an additional challenge after completing the main event:

• 1,000m SkiErg
• 30 Calorie Echo Bike
• 50 Sandbag Over Shoulder

DIVISIONS

BEGINNER

Perfect for first-time participants or those looking to challenge themselves.

• Modified movements available
• Lighter sandbag options
• Walk/run permitted

SCALED

For recreational athletes with some fitness experience.

• Standard weights
• Standard repetitions

RX

For competitive athletes, military, law enforcement, first responders, and experienced fitness enthusiasts.

• Prescribed weights
• Full challenge as written

OPTIONAL PLATE CARRIER CATEGORY

Looking for an extra challenge?

Participants may complete the event wearing a plate carrier.

Recommended Weight:

Men: 20 lbs
Women: 14 lbs

Plate carriers are completely optional and are not required to participate.

WHAT TO BRING

All event equipment, including sandbags, will be provided.
